An appropriate counter-point (and dead-on caveat) to news this week coming from Keeneland’s yearling sales...
Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds in Oscala, FL have announced the $16-million fiasco known as The Green Monkey will stand for $5,000 in 2009.
“We think the fee represents good value, and we’ve had a lot of requests,” said Dan Rapp, the farm’s bloodstock consultant and stallion director.
As compared to any other stallion that raced only three times, finishing third once and fourth twice?
Delusional.

At least he's priced under Cryptoclearance, who stands for $6500...he seems to get 'nothing' mares of late. Alas.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to share this view...
