Shocking to hear about the cracked sesamoid bone in Invasor's right hind leg, and his subsequent retirement, especially after that dynamite workout he put in on Saturday. The good news is that it was discovered after, not during, his workout (and not during a race), so he will be able live a blissful, healthy life as a stud from now on. Thank God! I don't think I can have taken another Barbaro-like breakdown.
Now that Invasor is retired, boy, oh boy, how does that affect the BC Classic?? Does Rags to Riches go now to take on Street Sense, Curlin and the others, with the big gun out? Oh, how we will debate that from now until October...
