Nolite Timere

Anyone just walking by my office must have thought I’d lost my mind. Who else but a horse racing-crazy art historian screams, “Go Nolite Timere, go Nolite Timere!” while watching the ninth race at Aqueduct via Twinspires? Hey, when a four-year-old maiden in his 24th race finally wins by increasing daylight, it makes a cheap $2 win bettor like me happy—I’m $13.00 richer!

One could argue, you might not be a cheap $2 player, if you stopped betting 0-23 maidens...

Well done.

Every once in a while Jimmy Ferraro will do that. We had a horse with him that was maybe 3-for-40 lifetime, but it was always exciting wondering today was going to be the day.

I met Jim Ferraro on Travers morning about four years ago; it was 5:30 am and I desperately needed a bathroom and he was kind enough to let me use the one in the barn.

I've followed his horses every since, occasionally hunch betting, and always cheering when he brings one home. Congrats, Val!

Congratulations to you! It's always fun to see one you've bet on come home on top!
